- Letter written to Gloria Mau, Des Plaines, Illinois, by PFC Douglas Wildfang, while he was serving in Okinawa during World War II. Gloria Mau volunteered to correspond with many people serving overseas during the war years. In this letter, Doug writes of him mother's flower garden in Oak Park, Illinois and using "powder" to ferret out Japanese soldiers from caves on the island.
